Back to the Ships!
This is one of my favorite months because we go back to the ships! Remember these are overnight drills so be sure that everything you need is packed in your sea bag. There is a basic sea bag list further in the newsletter.
If you have not completed your PRT it must be done by this drill to attend any training. PRT’s are mandatory for all cadets to remain in the program.
Please see below for all the upcoming events. Note there are a few ALL HANDS EVENTS! What does that mean you ask? YOU MUST BE THERE, NO EXCEPTIONS!
Opening Day Ceremonies

Apple Bees Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
When May 13th
Where: Apple Bees Southgate Plaza, 1050 Union Rd, West Seneca, NY 14224
Report Time: 0730 – 1030
All Hands Event – Proceeds to benefit The Sullivans Division USNSCC. Invite friends and family to join us that day!

When May 21st
Where: Buffalo Yacht Club

Cadets Needed for Color Guard and Side boys – We will need 7-9 cadets for this detail. Please contact PO3 Brown to sign up.
Uniform of the day – Dress Whites
Memorial Day Parade – ALL HANDS EVENT!
When May 29th
Where: Williamsville South High School (Main St. Williamsville)
Report Time: 1200
Color Guard needed – 7 Cadets please contact PO3 Brown to sign up.
Dismissal – Immediately after the parade. Please be advised you need to be present to pick up your child. We encourage all parents to stay for the duration of the parade. Once it is over officers like to go home and enjoy the rest of the day with their families. When parents are late this prevents us from having our family time.

Fraternal Order of the Eagles
We need a 5 Man color guard for this event to celebrate our veterans.

Food & Drinks provided, and there is a Basket raffle if you choose to purchase tickets.

Location: Buffalo Naval Park
Dismissal will be at the normal time On Sunday – 1545
You must come aboard the ship to pick up your cadet! NO EXCEPTIONS
June – 03/04
July – TBD – Family Picnic
August – 05 Report time will be @ 1300 for any cadet not already at the Summer Training. Please make sure you feed your cadet before bringing them to the ship as we will not have lunch that day.
Dismissal will be 06 Aug @ 1345.
**Sea Bag List**
REMEMBER, even if it is not an overnight drill, you are still required to have a sea bag with the necessary contents.
- Meals are $20 per cadet for meals. Please make sure you have your money. Exact change is preferred. Thank you.
- Sneakers and PT gear.
- NWU uniform and/or Dress Uniform
- Pens and pencils, paper, and coursework
- Sleeping bag/blanket & pillow
- Sleeping gear ( most cadets sleep in sweats)
- Toiletries – brush/comb, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, wash cloth, razors and deodorant
Remember each and every one of you is our best recruiter. If you would like to bring a friend/neighbor/relative who is interested in joining, let LT J. Pawli know in order to pass along the information about the program to them.
Shooting will be on Thursday, 11 MAY 17, at 1900. 10 cadets are needed. Cost is $11.00; please bring exact change. See the Midshipman at drill if you want to sign up. Must be 12 or older to attend shooting.
